Synopsis
Alice suffers the consequences of accidentally spreading a rumor about mushrooms.
Description
Oscar and Alice are having a picnic. Oscar says it's their first family-versary. Alice says she is a cute woolly mammoth and not an elephant, and Oscar confirms "Yes, we're elephantidaes!" When Oscar offers her several mushroom dishes he made, thinking their first family-versary should be the Mushroom Anniversary, she says she doesn't like mushrooms, and when he insists, that mushrooms turn your hair into spaghetti. Oscar relents on account of her cute woolly mammoth hair. But once they pick up their picnic it is revealed they were sitting on Dandelions, the most gossipy plant, and they're all repeating what Alice said. The wind blows and the dandelion puffs spread all over the island, saying that mushrooms turn your hair into spaghetti. Eventually a mushroom hears this and demands "Who told you that?!"
Soon Alice has a premonition, hearing the phase "The Death Cap is coming," in a vision of hellfire. She looks the Death Cap up in the witches' library and learns it comes for all who spread Mushrumours (negative speak about anyone in the mushroom community). She and Oscar attempt to fix this by apologising to a fairy ring, but the mushrooms there say that once the Death Cap's wheels are in motion, she can't be stopped.
They then decide to spread positive rumours about the mushrooms to counteract the bad one. Only when they go back to the Dandelions and give them the good dirt, the wind doesn't blow for them the rest of the day. At dusk, the Death Cap approaches. Alice, saying she knows witches aren't supposed to mess with nature, does so anyway, causing a great gust of wind to blow the Dandelions as well as the Death Cap away.
However, this offends the nearby clouds, who blow the Death Cap right back. She captures Alice with her hooked staff and carries her away to the Royal Mush's lair. Alice is afraid, but the Death Cap blindfolds her only to feed her a mushroom, which she actually likes! The Royal Mush says it's very important for a witch to enjoy mushrooms as they are an essential part of magic.
Suddenly Oscar appears wearing a vest and demands whatever the mushrooms did to Alice should be done to him too since he is family. Mushrooms and Alice laugh as the Death Cap throws a mushroom in Oscars mouth. Oscar exclaims "UMAMI!"
Addressing Oscar as weirdo, Alice says they could be cousins. The episode ends as Oscar and Alice hug.
